Penelope Syllignaki, is one of the few djs in Greece, that specifies in swing jazz music and generally in the sound of the first half of the past century. Having already some music experience, she started dancing along with the first students of Lindy Hop Greece in 2007, the first days of Lindy Hop in Greece. Later on, her passion for that era leaded her deeper in that music. She has participated as a dj in many big events of Lindy Hop Greece and independently in Thessaloniki, Athens, Kavala, Xanthi. She also organizes theme nights, combining music and image. In December 2011 she participate at Shout Sister Shout Festival (Rome, Italy), in February 2015 at Leapin’ Lindy (Bern, Switzerland) and of course she has never missed, for the past 6 years, Swing n Swim, the festival organized by Lindy Hop Greece every June in Chalkidiki. So, the fact that she owns a huge personal collection of gramophone discs and vinyls is no surprise to anyone. The past 6 years she has her own live radio show (Take the A Train) where she presents the history, evolution and impact of jazz music to the contemporary sound, while emphasizing in Dixieland, Hot Jazz and Swing.
