This is us!

Lindy Hop came in Greece in 2006, and it came by bike! Michael Widmer from Switzerland was travelling through Europe and when he arrived in Thessaloniki he liked it so much he decided to stay for a while... He called his friends and started dancing lindy hop by the bay! People were asking what was this exciting dance so he printed out some flyers and started spreading the word.

A little bit later on, the first lindy hop community in Greece was born! Lindy Hop Greece was a fact! Alex Marinis, Christina Loukaki, Rania Evaggelinou and Michael Widmer were teaching lindy hop, participating in events and giving shows alongside with the first students in Thessaloniki so the dance became the new greek craze!

LINDY HOP GREECE

Lindy Hop Xanthi
established 2012

In 2012, lindy hop arrived in Xanthi! Alex and Christina were invited by FEX to do a taster class and it was a blast! Since then the lindy hop community of Xanthi is organised by Georgia Vasileiadou and Jordan Markopoulos, trainee teachers of Lindy Hop Greece, and it's growing bigger and bigger!

Lindy Hop Xanthi has organised many events and workshops with guest teachers from abroad, always with the help and support of Lindy Hop Greece! This year, the things got out of control: We decided to celebrate the 10 years of Lindy Hop (in) Greece with this joyful and exciting weekend in our little town, Xanthi! It's going to be 3 days full of dancing, music, love and smiles! So mark your dates and do not miss! We will be happy to have you here!
